1. AR application for presentation of a smart house

Develop a mobile application using augmented reality for presentation of a room/house.

The Problem:
There are a couple of objects in a room, which should be presented in AR space on mobile devices. Each object is labeled using a marker (QR code for example). When the marker is focused on, using the mobile application, a 3D AR representation of the object is presented to the user. The object should be interactively manipulated (rotation, pressing on a certain part should give a presentation of that part through text or video or image or...). The application should also provide the same functionality when the user is not in the room, in this case the application should offer a list of such objects for previewing, interaction,... The application should also be intuitive for use (user experience aspects), designed for an average, non-tech user.

2. BARIS – Slovenian web application for treatment of morbid obesity

To design responsive website design for morbidly obese patients, enabling to assess their eating habits and generating virtual patient tailored diet menu.

The Problem:
Prevalence of obesity in Slovenia is increasing. Lifestyle modifications and pharmacological interventions have shown limited weight loss, often associated with weight regain and adverse anti-obesity drug side effects. Bariatric surgery is the only effective and successful weight loss therapy for patients with BMI >40 kg/m2 or BMI 35.0–39.9 kg/m2 along with obesity-associated comorbidities, in terms of effective weight loss and its maintenance, effective reduction/resolution of obesity-associated comorbidities and improved quality of life. Dietary intervention plays an important role in pre-and postsurgery period for optimisation short- and long-term outcomes. A responsive website design for morbidly obese patients is a novel approach in dietary intervention programme, enabling to assess patient’s eating habits and enchance patient’s adherence to the dietary programme by generating virtual patient tailored diet menu with nutritionally balanced meal choices that meet patient’s personal preference.

4. Therapy Light

To design a device and application that use information from sensors and from the internet to automate the use of light therapy in the workplace.

The Problem:
Research shows that there is a lack of daylight exposure in the workplace, which negatively impacts the health and wellbeing of employees. The symptoms include mood disorders, circadian rhythm disorders, sleep disorders, and lower energy levels which negatively impact productivity and can be the causes of absence from work.
Light therapy is proven to be effective against symptoms caused by the lack of exposure to daylight. The product is a device that would automate unnecessary and repetitious interactions. By using information gathered by sensors and from the internet about the presence of the user, ambient light intensity, time and weather it would enable more effective use of light therapy and it would increase concordance.
The product is intended for use by employees that work in seating positions in spaces with a lack of daylight as well as for patients with clinical diagnosis of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and similar disorders related to lack of daylight exposure.

5. Invisible E-Bike

The Idea of the project is to design a electrical Bicycle. The goal ist to hide all electrical parts inside of the bicycle frame, to have the imagination of a normal (no electrical) bicycle.

The Problem:
Nowdays the typical E-Bike look like a crazy spaceship, heavy, big and in my eyes really ugly. So the idea for my e-bike is to change all that. It supposed to look like a normal bicycle, maybe a bit fancy, but still with the beautiful shape of a standard city bike.
All electrical parts, like the engine or the batteries should be small enough to hide them inside the bicycle frame, but it should be powerful enough, to have a good reason to take the e-bike instead of a normal bike.

Izziv je izdelati pilotsko aplikacijo z uporabo tehnologij obogatene resničnosti (Augmented Reality, AR) za pomoč pri sestavi počitniških prikolic.

The Problem:
Izziv je izdelati pilotsko aplikacijo z uporabo tehnologij obogatene resničnosti (Augmented Reality, AR) za pomoč pri sestavi počitniških prikolic. Izbrati je potrebno primerno tehnologijo (npr. MS Hololens) ter ugotoviti prednosti in trenutne omejitve strojne in programske opreme za realizacijo AR rešitev. Prvi uporabniški scenarij obsega prikaz pohištvenih sklopov za pomoč pri sestavi in montaži. Drugi uporabniški scenarij obsega prikaz inštalacij (npr. električna, plinska, vodovodna) in njihova umestitev v prostor. Izziv pri tem je čim bolj natančna postavitev inštalacij v dejanski prostor prikolice oz. vozila. Posebej zaželenj prikaz skritih delov že nameščenih inštalacij. Cilj te aplikacije je pomoč pri izdelavi ter pri servisu vozil/prikolic.

Analitična primerjava standardov ITS-G5 IEEE802.11p in 3GPP 5G

The Problem:
Cilj te teme je analitična primerjava standardov ITS-G5 IEEE802.11p in 3GPP 5G. Gre za standarda, ki sta v osnovi namenjena različni uporabi, saj je prvi standard osredotočen na komunikacije V2X, drugi pa na mobilne komunikacije. Kljub temu sta v določenih scenarijih lahko oba standarda uporabljena za komunikacijo V2X. Primerjava naj zajema primerjavo uporabljenih frekvenc in njihovih značilnosti, primerjavo hitrosti prenosa podatkov, zakasnitve in primernost za različne scenarije uporabe. Preveri naj se možnost zaščite oziroma kriptiranja povezav, optimalnost uporabljenih protokolov, možnost centralnega nadzora, cenovna primerjava in možnost oddaljenega konfiguriranja uporabljenih naprav v vozilih.

The Problem:
Izziv je preizkusiti tehnologije navigacije uporabnikov znotraj zgradb (indoor navigation) ter pilotska implementacija v obliki mobilne aplikacije. Preizkusiti je potrebno različne tehnologije (npr. navigacija s pomočjo WiFi/Bluetooth tehnologije), raziskati omejitve ter prednosti in izbrati najustreznejšo možnost. Uporabniški scenarij obsega učinkovito navigacijo uporabnikov znotraj zgradb in obveščanje. Izziv je preizkusiti možnost integracije rešitev navigacije znotraj zgradb s sistemi za upravljanje podatkov (npr. MiTeam platforma, tehnologija Apache Cordova). The Problem:
V podjetju Swarco so razvili t.i. "mestno prikolico" z LED prikazovalnikom - zaradi svoje velikosti in resolucije prikazovalnika je ta prikolica primerna za urbano rabo. Transport prikolice je mogoč z osebnim avtomobilom. Mestno prikolico je mogoče opremiti z različnimi senzorji, detektorji in komunikacijskimi moduli. Možno jo je uporabiti v različnih primerih:
- usmerjanje prometa ob dogodkih,obveščanje uporabnikov (pešci, kolesarji, vozniki, ...) z različnimi obvestili (ne nujno vedno prometne narave),
- spremljanje dogodkov (histrost voznika, onesnaženost zraka, zasedenost parkirnih mest, spremljanje prometa itn.) s pomočjo različnih senzorjev (radarja, NOx senzorja, kamer itn.).
Podjetje želi prikolico umestiti na trg. V ta namen bi v okviru PKP projekta izvedli študijo, ki bi obravnavala razmere pred in po uporabi prikolice znotraj istega dogodka/primera. Ker v Sloveniji ni takega sistema na voljo, je predmet te naloge načrtovanje in preučitev možnosti izdelave aplikacije, ki ima tak uporabniški vmesnik za vnos podatkov – IVR.

The Problem:
Cilj teme je preučiti uporabo in delovanje IVR (interaktivni glasovni odzivnik) aplikacij z namenom, da se ugotovi, ali so telefonski govorni uporabniški vmesniki primerni za uporabo na področju telemedicine in telezdravja ter klicnih centrov v Sloveniji. Študija naj razišče možnosti tega področja in po možnosti naj se izdela aplikacija, ki omogoča vnos osnovnih podatkov za spremljanje kroničnih bolezni z uporabo IVR – sistema in spletnega brskalnika.

3GPP analiza varnostne arhitekture IMS platforme in varnostna politika

IMS ima povezavo s fiksnim in mobilnim omrežjem, z omrežji poslovnih uporabnikov, medoperaterskimi omrežji in internetom. Vse več pozornosti je posvečeno zaščiti in varovalnim mehanizmom.

The Problem:
Cilj teme je raziskati in vzpostaviti varnostne mehanizme po priporočilih 3GPP ter postavitev informacijske zaščite operaterskega omrežja v katerem je implementirana IMS arhitektura. V operaterskem omrežju IMS Telekom Slovenije že zagotavlja tehnološko konvergenco omrežij, storitev, aplikacij, registriranja, zaračunavanja, itd. V skupini Telekoma Slovenije je IMS identificiran kot ena od možnosti fiksno mobilne konvergence v več operaterskem okolju, zato je potrebno raziskati še dodatne možnosti kriptiranja in varnosti SIP/RTP povezav ter načrtovati implementacijo le teh za poslovne uporabnike, med medoperaterskimi omrežji in internetnimi omrežji.

5G EDGE uDC IOT okolje

Namen projekta je vzpostavitev 5G EDGE mDC (mikro DC) okolja za podporo IoT storitvam. Vzpostaviti okolje za povezovanje Interneta stvari z zalednimi sistemi za inteligentno obdelavo podatkov.

The Problem:
Okolje bo sestavljeno iz primarnega DC in skeundarnega mikro DC na robu omrežja. Primarni namen je zagotovitev nizkih odzivnih časov v primeru kritičnih storitev, kot je na primer nadzor elektro energetskega omrežja, in hkrati posredovanje informacije v samo jedro operacij. Povezava obrobnih elementov bo vzpostavljena preko 5G omrežja in bo delovala dvosmerno z možnostjo upravljanja terminalnih elementov. Terminalni elementi bodo avtonomni in bodo omogočali pred obdelavo zajetih podatkov. Med projektom bomo vzpostaviti delujoče okolje s celotno IoT storitveno vertikalo temelječo na 5G povezljivost. Vertikala bo sestavljena iz naslednjih elementov:
• Pametni terminal s senzorjem,
• Dostopovna brezžična povezava preko različnih tipov dostopa (4G, NB-IoT, WiFi, Lora,..)

Smart parking

Smart parking solutions offer drivers to find a parking place within a parking facility or in a smart city. On the other hand, owners of parking facilities have a better overview of utilisation.

The Problem:
Knowledge about available/occupied parking lots does not offer desired added value. PREOBLIKOVANJE OLIMPIJSKE SABLJE

Projektno izhodišče je tehnična brezžična dovršitev sabljaškega športnega orožja, ki v zadnjih desetletjih ni sledil trendom in tehnologiji.

The Problem:
Sabljaško orožje za beleženje zadetkov nasprotnika uporablja električni tokokrog. Tehnologija na vseh nivojih še vedno bazira na žičnem priklopu.
V raziskavi, ki je bila opravljena med sabljači amaterskega, narodnega in svetovnega nivoja je jasno razvidno, da kar 60% anketiranih izpostavlja problem z žičnim priklopom, ki je trenutno nezanesljiv hkrati pa sabljača zaradi priklopa v bližini dlani lahko ovira pri izvajanju njegovih napadalnih in obrambnih akcij.
Problem tako na podlagi prepoznane ključne točke ponuja poslovno priložnost ter možnost za enkratno inovacijo rekvizita skladno s sodobnimi tehnološko oblikovnimi tendencami za redefiniranje sablje kot olimpijskega orožja/rekvizita v 21. stoletju.

To goal of this project is to create motorized stand for use with mobile phone to be used as telepresence system for meetings/teleconferences.

The Problem:
To make teleconference calls / remote meetings more interactive. Telepresence system will allow remote users to more actively participate in live meeting. Goal is to develop system that will use mobile phone or tablet for video-call. The system will include motorized stand for phone with at least two active degrees of freedom so that remote user can look left-right and up-down). System's movement can be controlled remotly by person doing the videocall through GUI, phone's gyroscope/accelerometer or head tracking (maybe also include VR/AR?). Additional speakers or microphone can be added if necessary.

Intelligent wearable device for emotion recognition for persons with autistic spectrum disorders

Development of software and determining hardware components for a functional prototype of the device. Proving the concept by testing the software on a PC.

The Problem:
1 out of 68 people has an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The symptoms include poor social and communication skills. One of the deficits resulting from poor social skills is an inability to recognise and understand other peoples emotions. That is why people with ASD could potentially benefit from having a device which could help them do just that. The goal is to implement AI for emotion recognition (possibly utilising cloud service) into a wearable device which uses the processing power of a cell phone. The device should communicate with the user through sound via a bone transducer and visually through an app on the phone. The emotion recognition should be performed on video and/or sound captured by the device. The device should also measure stress of its user (possibly through HRV measurements) and recommend breathing practice when there is an increase of level. It is therefore required to figure out both the hardware and the software for the device. A proof of concept is also required as a preliminary step by testing the software using a PC.
So far the concept has undergone quick testing with experts on the disorder and potential users through a number of interviews and observations.

Augmented Reality Gesture Control

The aim of this project is to deal with the "next big step" depicting Augmented (and Virtual) Reality, namely controlling virtual surroundings and objects by gesture and motion control.

The Problem:
The interaction with an augmented reality scene is quite limited in its current condition. It requires the use of both hands, one to hold on to the display and the other hand to interact with the screen of your device. To interact with the virutal enviroment without holding on to a device, so Virtual/Augmented Reality controlled by hand gesture and movement is the next obstacle to overcome.
In what way the gesture control will be realized is not yet defined. (Possible: Product like a glove or an armband. Program to capture motion. etc.). Current State:
